Engines for Cars and Light Commercial Vehicles
These engines are restored to factory conditions by replacing engine components using OEM parts. This process may be compared to changing tyres. While the rims are still in good working order (there may be cosmetic and aesthetic touch-ups required) the rubber is worn and needs to be renewed (replaced). The same happens to any engine when we recondition it. The engine is renewed with new vital parts fitted; new seals, bearings, piston rings, gaskets and any other part that may be required to ensure it operates as intended. Additionally, machine work is carried out to ensure that all engine components fit together like new. After such processes, the reconditioned engine will be rebuilt by our professional engineers before being prepared for dispatch to our Clients all over UK and Europe, or fitted the client's vehicle at our engine reconditioning center in Scotland.

The most common questions asked by our Customers intending to buy reconditioned engine units are:"How many miles are on the engine that I am intending to buy? (What is the mileage?)" or " How old is the engine?"
The answer to both questions is: The engine is as new as brand new tyres when you have them fitted in your car. The newly fitted parts, seals and gaskets are brand new, never used, and are, therefore: "zero miles parts."

Engine Engineering DO NOT offer second hand low mileage engines for sale. A few words will follow to explain what happens when a "low mileage - second hand - used" engine is delivered to Engine Engineering.
RECONDITIONED LOW MILEAGE ENGINES FOR SALE
At Engine Engineering we stock vast quantities of low mileage used core engines (as a core engine for reconditioning - we do not offer used engines for sale without reconditioning). Our second-hand core engines are dismantled and all components are always cleaned and checked, then machine work is done and engines rebuilt with new seals and gaskets. We do not sell second-hand low mileage engines but only the engines which are in perfect working condition - reconditioned engines. Low mileage or second hand used engines are reconditioned to the highest quality and not offered as a used engine but as a reconditioned engine with a 12 month unlimited mileage warranty as standard.

LOW MILEAGE ENGINE BECOMES RECONDITIONED ENGINE
Low mileage engines are less secure to buy than reconditioned engines because the process of engine reconditioning is a kind of insurance (due to machine work and OEM parts used) that the engine will run perfectly. In fact, most of the "100% checked and running OK" second-hand engines on the market need to be reconditioned. Due to our commitment to quality of the engine units we sell, quality control is involved and each step of our reconditioning process is recorded to ensure consistent results. What is the point of supplying engines with 1, 2 or 3 months warranty knowing that it is the maximum amount of time that the engine can run without breaking?
ENGINE ENGINEERING COMMITMENT TO QUALITY
We provide a long term warranty for the engines we offer for sale, so it is safe to buy. At our engine re-manufacturing / engine reconditioning business, the engine must meet the quality criteria prior to being installed in the vehicle or being dispatched to the Client. We do not permit any engine to be supplied to clients and then for us to give up. Due to our commitment to quality, we rebuild every engine - new gaskets and seals, as well as machine work, all completed in-house to ensure our high standard on every engine!
RECONDITIONED ENGINE IS A LOW MILEAGE ENGINE UPGRADED
All of the engines, however, sourced as low mileage engines are reconditioned. To ensure the performance and quality engines are rebuilt - upgraded - with new parts and machine work. Basically, when a Low Mileage Engine is delivered to our factory we assume that it does not meet our standard and we convert it to the reconditioned engine to make sure we can supply it with a long warranty to our clients.
