The second generation Range Rover was manufactured between 1994 and 2002. This Range Rover coded P38 was equipped with two Rover V8 petrol engines 4.0 and 4.6 and BMW 2.5 6 cyl turbo-diesel engine. The influence of ownership by BMW caused the use of BMW engines in Land Rover's Range Rovers. The engines used in the Range Rover model P38 was a 6 cyl turbo-diesel engine, adapted to Range Rover. It is not possible to install BMW M51 engines directly to Range Rover P38. There are too many differences.
