The BMW N47D20 Engine is a four-cylinder diesel engine released by BMW. It was released as the successor to the BMW M47 and consequently had multiple improvements over the previous engine. The First uses of this engine appeared in BMW the 1 series and came in the E87, E81 and the E82 and the E88 models. The engine was also used in the very popular ( amongst other ) models of BMW 3 Series 320D E90 and BMW 5 Series 520D E60.
