BMW S65B40 ENGINE

In production since 2007 until 2013, the BMW S65 engine variant consist of a V8 DOHC engine. Based on the S85 V10 variant, the BMW S65 has two cylinders which have been removed to convert in into a 4L V8 engine.

Notable BMW S65 ENGINE PROBLEMS / FAULTS / ISSUES

Much like the aforementioned s85 engine, the BMW S65 engine also suffers with a premature wearing of connecting rod bearings. It has been recommended that these be changed every 50,000 miles ( 80,000 KM) so to avoid any further serious problems or damage. It has also been recommended that the VANOS system be periodically replaced. Here at Engine Engineering we would advise that any problems be mentioned beforehand.
