KNOWN FORD DURATORQ ENGINE FAULTS

Although there are no major reported issues with this engine it has been used since early 2000 therefore we advise older models are checked regularly. Neglect of your engine will make it run less efficiently and eventually cause damage. The most common reported problems with engines are:

  • Overheating engine
  • Oil deprivation
  • Fuel pump blockage / failure
  • Injector failure
  • Cam chain jumping
  • Wear-out of piston rings
Ignoring any of these problems will cause serious damage to your engine!
