The Land Rover Stage I was unveiled and launched at the Amsterdam motor show in 1948 and proved to be a monumental commercial success. The Land Rover Series 1 was originally released as an agricultural vehicle for farming and also for light industrial usage and was implemented with a number of different body types for certain usages. Below we have listed the Land Rover Series 1 engines that Engine Engineering can recondition and the engines that were fitted to the Series I Land Rover.

The Land Rover Series II was a direct replacement for the Land Rover Series 1 and was released in 1958. The Land Rover Series II much like its predecessor was released with a variety of body shapes and was released with the ever popular and well known 2.25L petrol engine. The Land Rover Series IIA was released in 1961 where its production continued until 1971. The Land Rover Series IIA was released with a larger variety of applications and body types than its predecessor including military, commercial, industrial and agricultural applications. The Series IIA was an astronomical success at home and overseas where it held 90% market share in Australia and in many countries in Africa and the Middle East. The Land Rover Series III, also known as the "Stage One" was released in 1971 where its production continued until 1985 where it was replaced with the Land Rover Ninety and the Land Rover One Ten. The Land Rover Stage One was the most commonly produced Land Rover since the beginning of the company in 1947 with nearly 450,000 models being built.
