The Mercedes Sprinter is a vehicle which has been sold in many variants to serve multiple purposes such as a minibus, van, cab or a pick-up. As with the majority of vehicles of this nature the vehicle has been sold under multiple different nameplates over the years including Volkswagen and Dodge nameplates. However they are primarily marketed as the Mercedes Sprinter. The Sprinter began production in the year of 1995.

Mercedes Sprinter Engine Models- First Generation (1995-2006)

The First generation of the Mercedes Sprinter came out in the year of 1995. It was received by critical acclaim and won such awards as the "International Van of the Year" award in 1995. Just under half way through this generations life span, the engines available for the Sprinter changed.
