The Mercedes V-Class comes under the category of a light van or MPV. The V-Class also comes under the titles of the Mercedes-Benz Vito and the Mercedes-Benz Viano. The Mercedes V-Class began production in the year of 1996. Since its inception the V-Class has gone through two generations of vehicle.

Mercedes V-Class- First Generation W639 (1996-2003)

The Engines available for this generation of V-Class are as follows;

Petrol Mercedes 113 and 114 Engines

Petrol Volkswagen 2.8 VR6 Engine [M104 900]

Diesel 2.3L (With and without turbo)

Diesel 2.3L CDI 2.2 Engines

Mercedes V-Class- Second Generation (Prior to facelift)

The Second generation of the V-Class began in the year of 2003. The vehicle is available with six or seven seats but has spaced to be fitted with up to eight seats. The second generation of V-Class was designed to be sleeker than the previous generation and introduced a new range of engines which were available.

In the year of 2010, the V-Class received a face lift. In addition to newly designed head lights and front bumper designs, the diesel engines which are available were made to be more efficient and and were adapted from the Mercedes Sprinter range.
