The Fourth generation of Corsa was the first Corsa to be based on the GM Fiat Small platform. It consequently has a similar orientation to that of the 2005 Fiat Grande Punto and the 2008 Alfa Romeo MiTo. This generation of Corsa is available in both the 3-door and five-door variants. The same engine sizes as the previous generation- Corsa C- were available at launch. The 1.3 L CDTI and 1.7 L CDTI engines received an upgrade.
This generation was received to critical acclaim and won awards such as the "Car of the year" in the year of 2007. This award was given by "What Car?" magazine.
The Corsa from this generation has received two face lifts during its lifespan. In 2010, both petrol and diesel engines were released with a new line up of engines available. Additionally in 2011, the Corsa received an aesthetic facelift which saw changes to the headlights and front grill of the vehicle being enacted. In addition to this the car received technical upgrades such as an new multimedia system.
